Across the State

We traveled across the state of Florida today to visit my brother- and sister-in-law in their new, "retirement" home.  Not that they're retiring yet, but they have been wanting to move to Florida for some years now as their children grew older and went off to college.

Their home wasn't new when they bought it and they wanted to do some updates to it and it has been under construction work for some time, and fortunately for us, it was ready for visitors when we came to visit our in-laws this week.

So today we got in the car early in the morning, drove the few hours across the state, and stopped in for the day and overnight to visit and see their new home.   They have done so many things, both big and small, to make this just the home they wanted to have.

Not everything is done, but a large portion has been completed that they wanted to have done initially.  It is beautiful.   The children loved their pool and I think their yard is just stunning, which turns out to be one of the things that drew them to the home.

There is much to be done but hopefully, we can come to visit with them in future years during the summer, just like we used to do in prior years when we would go visit them in New Jersey.

The Big Boy Update:  My son isn't the biggest of dog lovers in comparison to some of the rest of us, but their dog, Daisy, decided to sleep with him and is curled up against him on his air mattress now.   He looks quite happy to have her there.

The Tiny Girl Chronicles:  My daughter has finally decided BARD, the blind library service that provides lots and lots of free audiobooks, just might be a good thing because I downloaded a whole series of books without making her wait for the next one.   She happily went to sleep listening to a book tonight,   I should go turn it off, now that I think about it.
