She was in the best of hands, which is always the case when our children are with any of their grandparents. Grandparents are experts with children, and we're so grateful we have them, and they're interested in helping.
My daughter wanted to come to the airport to pick us up and insisted I hug her the entire way home. She was so excited when we got in and wanted our attention in many ways, especially to see how the excavation of the dinosaur eggs she got for her birthday from Aunt A.
My son was in the middle of playing a video game whilst watching a YouTube video at the same time. He didn't come see us when we arrived; he called down and said, "hi, mom and dad." We had to ask him to pause the game to give us a hug hello. He has had his times of insecurity, but this trip wasn't one of them.
I'm tired. Sitting in a plane all day is, for some reason, completely unrestful. Travel is nice but I always am glad to be home.
