Heads Down, Thumbs Up

Eric and Kelly, my children's aunt and uncle, came in town this evening for an overnight stay while they picked up some of their things to take to their new retirement home in Florida.   Everyone was in high spirits as we ate dinner and both children had plans for what they wanted to do with Eric and Kelly.

The Big Boy Update:  My son wanted to show his aunt and uncle the programming he's been doing in Scratch, a visual programming language he learned while at Code Ninjas.   He also wanted them to see us film some video for Filament Stories.   He was very specific about the order.  But first, they had to go outside to the mailbox, because the stars were looking particularly bright and beautiful tonight—prettier than they would be in Florida, I believe he said.

The Tiny Girl Chronicles:  My daughter wanted us to play a game where two people are picked to be the secret taggers.   The other four put their heads down and their thumbs up.   Then the two pickers secretly walked around and tapped one person's thumb each.   Then the people who had been tapped got to try and guess who had tapped them.  If they got it correct, the replaced the person they guessed for the next round.  We played this for a good long while tonight and everyone laughed the entire time.   I didn't expect it to be so much fun.
